Our Story
Teji Cha began with a conviction: that everyday chai deserves better tea. In 2020, Biplab and Soma Saha founded Sukhochaya Trading Pvt. Ltd. in Berubari, Jalpaiguri — at the heart of the Dooars tea belt — with the aim of bringing strong, flavourful CTC tea to homes and tea stalls across India.
The Dooars is one of India's most productive tea regions. The plains between the Himalayan foothills and the Brahmaputra, with their heavy rainfall and rich alluvial soil, produce CTC teas known for their brisk strength and bright colour — qualities that make them ideal for the milk chai that India drinks every day.
